 As of Jul 23 2024, we have the following openings-

Postdoctoral scholar: We are currently recruiting a postdoctoral scholar! Our usual MO is that the scholar works on two projects- one that builds on recent observations in the lab (in this case, selective mRNA translation in the eye), and a second that they develop collaboratively with Deepika+others lab members based on mutual interests/expertise. If this sounds up your alley, please send an email stating your interest in a cover email of sorts and your CV to deepikav@pitt.edu! 

Research technician: We are currently recruiting a full time research technician at all levels of experience from post-bac to senior scientist. The ideal candidate will have experience with some of the techniques we use in the lab (cell culture/western blotting/NGS library prep and data analysis/Drosophila husbandry/microscopy) and will have their own dedicated project towards understanding mRNA translation regulation in adipocyte development. Graduate students: If you are currently a Ph.D. student in the IBGP program at Pitt where Deepika is a faculty member, we have several rotation projects open so please get in touch. If you are in another graduate program (M.S. or Ph.D) at Pitt but are interested in our work, send Deepika an email so we can figure out how we can work together.

Undergraduate students: We are currently at capacity for undergraduate researchers. 

We are also open to collaboration and happy to discuss any research projects you think could use our expertise.
